How do cryptic clues work in OSRs? ›

Cryptic clues are common riddle clues that can be found in all tiers of Treasure Trails. These clues demand a fairly wide variety of tasks. The tasks range from speaking to an NPC, searching a designated crate, or directing the player to dig in some fairly obscure location.

Probably the cheapest and fastest way to get a Hard Clue is by killing Hellhounds, and with a base drop rate of 1 in 64, you can make it a 1 in 32 drop rate by using an Imbued Ring of Wealth in the Wilderness.

There are only two ways to increase the drop rate of revenant items; completion of the elite Wilderness achievements which gives a 5% increased chance for revenant drops, and the Revenant drop enhancer, which gives 10%. As revenants are classified as ghosts, they count towards ghost Slayer assignments.

Banshees can be assigned as a Slayer task at level 15 Slayer and level 20 combat by various Slayer masters. They are found in the Slayer Tower and the Catacombs of Kourend. Players must wear earmuffs or a Slayer helm when fighting banshees.

Thugs are level 10 monsters who are found exclusively in the Wilderness on members' servers.

The Ghost type (Japanese: ゴーストタイプ Ghost type) is one of the eighteen types. Ghost-type moves are super effective against Ghost- and Psychic-type Pokémon, while Ghost-type Pokémon are weak to Dark- and Ghost-type moves.

What type is immune to ghost? ›

Ghost is immune to normal and fighting while normal is immune to ghost. This logic would dictate fighting also being immume to ghost, but it isn't. It's not even resistant to ghost. The normal type is meant to represent just a normal human or animal.

Duskull is known as the Requiem Pokémon and first appeared in the short Camp Pikachu. Duskull resembles a Grim Reaper with its black robe and big-eyed skull mask. It can also turn invisible to sneak up on its prey more easily. With a base stat total of 295, it is the weakest of the pure Ghost-type Pokémon.

Most areas that contain ghosts contain those of combat levels 19, 24, and 29. Ghosts with a combat level of 76 and 77 can only be found in the Sepulchre of Death, the bottom floor of the Stronghold of Security.

The ghost's skull can be found in the Lumbridge Swamp, near the south-east mining site. Search the rocks a bit to the east, and the skull will appear in your inventory. A skeleton warlock (level 7) will spawn when the skull is retrieved; you can either kill it or simply leave the area with the skull.

Spirit shards can be used in trades involving multiple valuable items, or generally as a replacement for coins at any amount. A player can buy and sell large amounts of spirit shards at 25 coins each at NPCs without the assistance of other players. For this reason, the Grand Exchange value of shards is irrelevant.

If instead of holding your clue in your inventory, you drop it on the ground, then monsters (or implings, or any other source of clues) can drop a second one, and then you'll have two clues when usually you're not supposed to be able to get more than one.

Protects your clue scroll if you die. A clue box allows a player to keep a single clue scroll or reward casket on death in the Wilderness when it is held in their inventory. It can be purchased from Justine's stuff for the Last Shopper Standing for 5 Last Man Standing points.

Gravestones are generated when a player dies through any means except in the wilderness and safe activities (whereby no items are lost, hence rendering a gravestone useless) and exits Death's office without reclaiming them. Players must also have dropped at least one item upon death in order to receive a gravestone.

If a player dies in the Wilderness with a clue scroll above level 20, it will disappear whether it's a PvP death or not, unless it is an item kept on death, or if that player has a clue box. Players will find that the clue scroll will be gone upon returning to their loot otherwise.
