Does Larson Storm Doors have a lifetime warranty? ›

The limited lifetime warranty applies to the original purchaser of owner occupied homes and covers mechanical components excluding screen fabrics.

Retainers are used to secure the glass panel or insect screen on a storm door with full light seasonal ventilation. Depending on the full light storm door model, your storm door may use either plastic retainer strips, metal thumb turn retainers, or quick change handle retainers.

A fire door retainer automatically allows the door to close in the event of a fire alarm sounding to prevent the spread of fire, ensuring compliance with fire regulations.

Look for Clips and Fasteners

Search around the screen's perimeter for clips, fasteners, or other types of retaining hardware. Remove or disengage the hardware using your hands or any necessary tools. For fixed window screens, you may have to disassemble a portion of the window frame to access the screen.

The full glass can be removed and replaced seasonally with a full screen (included on interchangeable full views). Other models will may have a different glass configuration.

To do so, remove the bottom hinge and clear any dirt or debris out of the way. Then, by the hinge, lay a strip of wooden shim or cardboard. Replace all of the screws, then double-check the alignment by opening and shutting the door repeatedly and paying attention to how it sounds and feels.

Your serial number is factory-applied on the hinge rail (also called a Z-bar) and is visible when the storm door is opened. If you do not find the serial number on your hinge rail, look around the perimeter of the door, as the label may have been moved during installation.
